How’s Your Walk?
As we transition into the New Year, it’s a good time to reflect on the previous year…to consider what you’ve accomplished during the year. Were there any major milestones? What happened that was good? And what would you rather have forgotten?
As the quote by John O’Leary above states, you can’t always predict what will happen in your life or sometimes even the direction you will take, but you can always choose the way in which you will live it.
Overall, last year was a very good one for us. Unfortunately we lost our treasured dog Chico and that was very difficult for all of us. But we gained a new “grand puppy” Bowser, who is an adorable miniature Schnauzer that is much like Chico, yet has his own distinct personality.
We planned a wedding for our daughter with two wedding showers and a beautiful ceremony that was the highlight of our year.
After many years of working exclusively for our business, I decided to take on additional clients as I did a while back, and am doing what I truly love, helping businesses develop and produce their websites and communications materials. In addition, I presented a program for the Kentucky Bankers Association on the theme of my website, GoCreateYou.com. They really enjoyed this thought-provoking session that provided strategies on how to create goals and achieve results.
When I think back on my year, I have to say I really enjoyed it. I was healthy, I enjoyed my family and friends, and I achieved some important goals in my life. Unfortunately, not all years are as good. Things happen around us and to us that can be very challenging and sometimes even disastrous. It’s how you walk the walk, overcome challenges that can set you back, continue to pursue your goals and dreams, and live your life to the fullest.
As you transition into this New Year, examine your kind of walk. Are you shuffling along dragging your feet, are you tentatively inching your way forward, or are you skipping along as you enjoy the scenery around you? It’s your choice how you decide to walk!
