Who Are You?
Do you really know who you are? There are truly so many facets of your personality. You may be a mom or a dad, a daughter or a son, a sister or a brother. You may have a certain profession that defines you or a particular faith that you believe in.
The area in which you live also influences your life choices…whether your home is in the city, town, suburbs, or out in the countryside. And the culture you were brought up in helps determine your particular values and the goals you set for your life. All of these factors contribute to the person you are today, and help define your unique individuality.
What’s distinctive about each and every one of us as human beings is that we all long to belong. We strive to be part of a group of people where we can feel safe and secure…whether that’s as part of a family, a neighborhood, a church or place of worship, or a business or profession. We all strive to be a part of something that is much more than us individually. This feeling of belonging nurtures us and helps us feel more whole inside and out.
As you think about who you are or long to be, consider the groups that you belong to. Do they help define who you are as an individual and contribute to your life personally and professionally? Part of your journey in life is creating a vision of who you are and surrounding yourself with people who will support you every step of the way.
